Nubble Light, also known as the Cape Neddick Light Station, stands majestically atop a rocky outcrop, with waves gently caressing the shores below. The Story Behind the Photo:

Growing up in Maine, I had seen countless photos of Nubble Light. Almost as many as I had seen of Portland Head. But I didn’t actually visit Cape Neddick until my adult years. It was a family reunion at York Beach and before I stepped onto the sands, stopped by the beach house, or even saw any of my family that had travelled from all corners of the country, I cruised down to Nubble Light. I was arriving just before sundown so I knew I had to make this my first stop for the last light of day. This beautiful beacon, isolated on its own island, is truly worth a detour to take in. I got my shot, then took off to see my family. I’d be back for sunrise.
